Where We No Longer Hold Our Horses

The Dayton release party of Snowmen Losing Weight was very much like game 5 of the 1989 NBA playoffs between the Chicago Bulls & the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both the release party & the playoff game had the kind of energy you could shoot from a cannon and people would dance and clap and spill drinks. Below see if you can see the resemblances.

As mentioned in an earlier post, Snowmen Losing Weight has officially sold out. However, BatCat Press is thinking & hoping to run a second printing. If you are interested please let them know. They have a very simple form that helps them gauge interest. Send them messages.

In one version, we are sitting near a giant stained glass window with ink bleeding into our hairy armpits.

In another, we sing as “Sunflowers have the hospital surrounded.” (Sturm)

Speaking Suns

At one point, all the blood ran to our fingers and we could only breath through the ear of a trumpet.

The moments where we act as sneezes, cat sneezes. And people smile at us in another language. Because “there are no thoughts except through language.” (Bernstein)

Matt Hart

We destroyed everything in the story. “And the new fire engine   The airline terrific,/like an icebox in my lungs” (Hart)

The Judy Blooms

We rush along with a dark sweat on our clothes. Night tries to explain itself in a masterpiece of the situation we are always in.

The ninjas dreamed of nickels and dimes left spinning on the bar as a thank you, as a tip to the waitress with the rhythmic structure as a body.

So thanks to everyone who came out and made the evening scintillate.

I feel like the first time you see snow.
